The sapwood is yellowish to reddish white, the heartwood is reddish yellow, brownish red and gradually darkens. It can be dried very quickly and well. It is easy to work, glues well, has good elasticity, can be painted, polished, turned, peeled, holds nails well and can be colored. Its specific gravity is approximately 500 kg/m3.

It is preferred as A/B. While the first side is knotless, the second side is knotty.
